How do I redeem my gift card? You can redeem your gift card directly though STI. Please email Anna Williams or call (800) 276-7764 and let us know the cause you want to support:
- Make a donation to STI to support sustainable tourism development;
- Invest in our Carbon Offsets Portfolio. Offset 1,574 pounds of CO2 for every $10; or
- Support one of more than 850 philanthropic projects across the globe.
How will the cards be mailed? All orders will be mailed through the US Postal Service. If you require expedited shipping, you can place your order by calling us at (800) 276-7764. Please note that additional fees are required for rush shipping.
How much does expedited shipping cost? It depends on the size of the order and the type of shipping. Please email Anna Williams or call (800) 276-7764 for a quote.
Is it really biodegradable? Yes, it is corn-based and will break down into environmentally-friendly compounds once it's thrown away. The card won't break down in normal use, though and is designed to decompose in natural compounds like water and carbon dioxide.
What does the card text say? Choose between "Travel with Purpose" or " Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."
Is the card tax deductible? Absolutely. When you purchase a gift card from Sustainable Travel International, 100% of the amount of your contribution is tax deductible.

How is the card sent? It is sent affixed to a recycled cardstock carrier from our partners at GlobalGiving.
When will I receive my cards? We process and ship orders within 5-10 business days. Cards are sent via US Postal Service.
When will the card be activated? The card will be activated within 24 hours of purchase.

Gift cards can be purchased using a credit card. We are unable to accept checks to pay for gift cards at this time. Gift cards are 100% tax deductible for the purchaser, but redeeming a gift card is not a tax-deductible event.
Gift cards may be purchased in any even-dollar amount (minimum US$10 not including shipping and handling).
Upon redeeming the card, the recipient can make a donation greater than the amount of the gift card, and pay for the balance using his/her own credit card (please note that the minimum "added" donation must be at least US$10).
The gift card must be applied in full assuming it is equal to/less than the amount being donated (i.e. recipient cannot elect to use only part of the gift card UNLESS the donation is less than the amount of the gift card).
Recipient cannot use a gift card to purchase another gift card.
Unless otherwise specified, the gift card is valid for one year from date of purchase. If a gift card is not redeemed prior to the expiration date, those funds will be transferred to a Matching Fund.
