Upcoming Network Meetings
Convened by Sustainable Travel International (STI), the Sustainable Travel Leadership Networkis an executive level forum for industry leaders committed to achieving the highest levels of sustainability. Working together this peer to peer interchange helps its private sector Members to identify and assess key issues and provide a forum for information exchange on good business practices that facilitate social, environmental and economic sustainability, both locally and globally.
Leaders in the travel and tourism industry that are driving change are uniquely positioned to support scalable global sustainability initiatives. While there are other sustainability forums, there are few opportunities specific to the travel industry for information sharing across sectors and face to face interaction between like-minded leaders. Therefore, the time is right for a collective network of industry leaders who are helping to catalyze good business practices.
Results Driven Outcomes
The Sustainable Travel Leadership Network provides members with the following benefits:
- Semi-annual, face-to-face topical peer exchange meetings and professionally facilitated dialogue regarding sustainability challenges, good practices and lessons learned;
- Relevant input, presentations and involvement from outside experts as appropriate;
- Key stakeholder communications component integrated into chosen sustainability topics;
- Outbriefing Report of key dialogue, lessons learned, and good practices exchange;
- Online forum for ongoing information exchange and sharing;
- Opportunity for unilateral or multi-lateral industry-wide initiatives to develop;

Member Partner-Centric Focus
- The Network meets semi-annually in a confidential one and a half day forum, which included social, networking and evening events. Network meetings may also include sustainable practices familiarization tours by Network member hosts.
- Dialogue and agendas are Network driven to maximize ROI by ensuring that member issues are at the forefront of each and every discussion. The Network’s collective experience and expertise will help members share innovative, reults oriented take-home solutions.
- Hosting of Network meetings is rotated between members, who are invited to bring up to two representatives to each meeting - the invited Network representative (or agreed upon replacement), and an agreed upon company representative based on meeting specific topics.
- The Network is tasked with deciding future Network size and composition. A very limited number of industry representatives from each sector form the initial Network, which is organized to balance individual competitive interests and collective goals.

Diverse Expertise
- By-invitation-only, executive-level management from multiple sectors of the travel industry attend Network meetings to weigh in with a variety of perspectives and experiences. Network members have diverse backgrounds in sustainable travel development, corporate responsibility, environmental management, marketing, and operations.
- Subject matter experts within and outside of the travel industry are invited to join Network meetings where relevant in order to speak or support specific solution-based initiative discussions.
