Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Shree Kalika Primary School runs classes from Grade 1 to Grade 5. But, upon completion of Grade 5, the young children have to walk an hour everyday to the next village to continue studies. This is difficult for 10-11 years olds and even more so to girl students who are required to assist their mother with the household work. The expansion of the school will ensure that children continue their studies which will ensure better opportunities and livelihood for the children and their families.

Activities

*A new school block with six classrooms; three in the ground floor and three in the first floor which will accommodate around 25 students per room will be constructed. *Teacher Trainings will be organized to improve teaching techniques.

Potential Long Term Impact

The construction of the school will also ensure that the children will have a more opportunities and livelihood then their parents. This program also hopes that the students one day will return back to the village and assist in its development.

Project Message

"The future belongs to our children and we must make sure that we nurture their growth." - Bel Bahadur Tamang, Chairman: School Management Committee
