Green Destination Guides

STI develops on-line green guides for destinations which feature: booking capabilities; travel information; pre-screened hotels and tours; travel tips and ideas; maps and other itinerary planning tools; video; pod-casts and social networking functionality to enable travelers to share ideas, photos and videos with each other.  The guides are created by STI in partnership with the destination. However, the central idea revolves around creating insider guides with tips and suggestions from local people.  The guides STI develops are optimized for search, designed to generate qualified inquiries and bookings, and can be featured on standalone websites, on tourist board web sites and / or on STI’s websites.

Geotourism MapGuides and Websites

STI works in collaboration with the National Geographic Society’s Center for Sustainable Destinations (CSD) to produce richly interactive Geotourism MapGuides and websites for destinations around the world. The combined capabilities of STI and CSD give destinations enhanced brand recognition through STI and National Geographic, increased consumer reach, and cartographic and editorial capabilities, along with STI’s experience in creating websites and its solutions for destination management organizations.

Geotourism MapGuides and websites are viewed by regional leaders as catalytic tools, serving to ignite geotourism product and program development as a result of increased awareness and focus. They also serve as educational tools designed to help both residents and visitors understand, value and protect the destination's distinctive assets, thereby leading to better destination stewardship and tourism management.

Communications and Outreach

STI provides all of its clients with communications and outreach support. STI is very effective at gaining public exposure and media traction for industry-leading partners. The organization proudly promotes its client’s best practices as an independent third party, helping them tell their story and garner positive attention. STI’s marketing and media reach is significant, with more than 12,500 press contacts, an average of 500,000 monthly web visits and 25,000-35,000 monthly visitors, and an email list of 30,000 plus conscientious consumers and travel professionals.
