After you submit your On-line Application, you will receive a STEP Self-assessment Application (along with detailed directions) that is applicable to the size and scope of your business, and you will have 60 days to complete and submit it to STI.

Next download, complete and sign an Affidavit and a Confidentiality Agreement. Then email completed copies to us, fax them to 866-624-8303, or mail them to: Sustainable Travel International, 835 SW William Drive, White Salmon, WA 98672 USA.

Complete the Self-assessment questionnaire.

Applicants who only wish to receive 1 to 2 stars and the corresponding "Self-Assessment Completed" eco-label need only provide STI with written evidence and or documentation for all of the required criteria. Be sure to label all of the information you submit, clearly indicating which criteria it applies to; failing to do so, may result in a delay in processing and or a surcharge of US$150 an hour.

Applicants who wish to receive a higher level of Eco-certification are required to fully complete the Self-assessment Application. This will help you to determine if you're ready for an on-site audit. Consider each question, assess whether your operations complies with the requirements of each question, and then enter the appropriate numerical value in the appropriate answer box. Please note that partial credit may be awarded for individual criteria.

Also, note that applicant's may opt to answer Not Applicable (N/a) for select questions. In each of these instances, the applicant will have to provide proof that N/a applies during the on-site audit process. Applicants who answer N/a for select questions will receive a final rating percentage score based only on the applicable items.

Once the Self-assessment Application has been completed, download, complete and sign the following three forms: Logo Licensing Agreement, Reference Form, and a STEP Feedback Form
