Thank
you for your interest!
Sustaniable Travel International (STI) is a rapidly growing organization, led by a team of dedicated professionals who care deeply about sustainability and protecting the planet. Applicants for the positions listed below must share this passion and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment where their individual contributions make a world of difference. New hires, volunteers and interns are rewarded with a stimulating work environment, flexible work hours, challenging and rewarding projects, and contributing to global sustainable development and STI's continued growth.
We currently have the following positions available; if you don't see anything that interests you, visit EcoClub's Job Centre or Stopdodo.com.
Representatives and Licensees
STI has developed a host of market-tested programs and solutions that are scalable at a destination level. As a non-profit organization, we actively share our intellectual property with others, decreasing their need to “recreate the wheel”. We could travel the world and personally deliver these solutions, but that’s not sustainable on multiple levels. So, we’d rather work with local individuals and like-minded organizations that believe in the power of sustainable tourism, and empower them to take ownership of our programs so they can more easily help others make a difference. Opportunities include:
1. Representative Model*: An opportunity for individuals who are well connected in the industry and are in a position to promote STI’s offerings on a commissionable basis. This model is successful if the representative has the time, resources and industry contacts to generate interest and buy-in to STI’s programs and services.
2. Licensee Model*: An opportunity for minded organizations that are well connected in the industry and actively involved in sustainable tourism development. Similar to the representative model, this commission-based model is successful when the organization has the knowledge, resources and industry contacts to generate significant interest and buy-in to our programs.
3. Employee Model: An opportunity for individuals that are well connected in the industry and actively involved in sustainable tourism development, tourism development, or tourism in general. This model is based on setting these individuals up as representatives then moving them into part- or full-time salaried positions if they offer a good fit and produce results.
4. NGO Model: If the Employee Model is successful and it’s in STI’s best interest from a strategic standpoint, we will found a local non-profit / charity in the country in question.
*Note: since STI is a non-profit, the margins on our programs and services are relatively low, so it really takes the right individual or organization to make these models work financially. Individual representatives typically have another job, and licensees typically offer other services.
Interested individuals and organizations are required to forward a resume or organizational overview, letter of interest, and a 1-2 page outline detailing how they would envision introducing STI in their region or country. For more information, contact Brian T. Mullis.
